Soon we will be celebrating the 400th anniversary of the end of the Time of Troubles. It’s a jubilee of the glorious feat of our entire nation. We must respect our ancestors. The best monument to them will be our good deeds and help to those in need. These monuments in the hearts of people are far more important than stone and bronze ones.

The “Time of Troubles” the Grand Duchess alludes to is a 15-year period of civil war and turmoil (1598-1613) between the death of the last Tsar of the Rurik dynasty and the crowing of the first Tsar of the Romanov dynasty, Mikhail I Fyodorovich.
